Maybe not as flamboyant, but I wouldn't want to deal with Lebron either in all honesty.
If we somehow had the opportunity to take him, you take him in a heartbeat. Are you kidding me? First, he's a top 50 kid so he's already a really good player. Plus, the recruiting benefits are obvious. These kids idolize LeBron. If you tell other recruits they can play with LeBron's kid that all but guarantees they can meet the man himself.

But I am sure you had a perfectly legitimate basketball-related reason for not being interested.

Because we already have Ryan Blackwell at that spot

Certainly pulled in the recruits for us with Jeffery Jordan.

I'm not a Lebron fan but nothing about him tells me he'd be an overbearing parent. He's already got a track record in high school so perhaps we have an indication. He's certainly no LaVar Ball.

I'm also of the opinion that the recruiting benefits are probably fairly minimal. If he's down in the locker room after every game, sure. But he probably won't be.

I'm doubting it will be an issue for us. Can't see much of a reason he'd come here. I kinda doubt BU is Lebron's type of coach.

Keep him away from Ohio State and Michigan please.

Yeah it'd be like a school taking an MJ son
I mean except personality wise Lebron I'm sure is way more difficult to deal with. While Jordan was known as a feisty jerk off the court and on, he was the consumate pro when it came to his kids while Lebron likes the attention on him at all times. Jordan was all business, Lebron is about his brand even though Jordan has a brand if that makes sense.

Seems pretty off base. I have read stories about Lebron intentionally not going to Bronny's games to deflect media attention and reduce crowd size. I would have said Bronny would be at Duke with K but without him I would say UCLA, UK, OSU would see to be most likely.

It is widely speculated in NBA circles that the last stop in Lebron's NBA career is whichever team drafts his son in the 2023 draft after Bronny declares for the draft right out of HS. Unless NBA further pushes off allowing HS players to declare, I would not expect Bronny to ever play in college.

No offense to Bronny but he isn't on that level. He is a good player but I'm not even sure he would be a one and done with another name.

Seems like I've read a number of articles about what a good parent LeBron has been. There were also a lot of videos showing him attending his son's games and being involved with his bb development from the beginning.

Did you see the interview with them both where Jeffrey talked about the only time he beat his dad one on one? MJ got really defensive and started cutting him down. Was a really weird look that Jordan's ego couldn't even allow his own kid to have that moment.

I say this as a Jordan apologist, the man's ego can't take any kind of blow. I'm not surprised at all that he couldn't let his kid talk about beating him. Needing to be the best at all times is absolutely on brand for him. Watching The Last Dance should make that clear to anyone, along with all the stories that are out there about him.

From what I've heard and seen (admittedly little since I don't go looking for his clippings), LBJ seems to be a good father. Supports his kids and encourages them to pursue their interests. I may not love him as a basketball player, but as long as proper boundaries are in place, whatever school Bronny ends up at will do just fine stuff LBJ in their corner.
