Hard for me to imagine it’s soon. Decommitted because of changing coaches and we don’t have a full staff put together yet. Plus he has a number of visits to take.
All Illinois needs is one coach to recruit Storr and since he has met Underwood before and committed, that's all that matters. People are making too much out of not having a third assistant. Most college teams only have 2 true recruiters on staff.

If that’s all that matters why did he decommit? Chester was announced on May 6th and Storr decommited on May 13th. Alexander was widely known to be coming on board at that point with Gentry going to Gonzaga. You may be correct that the 3rd assistant coach and the assistant to the HC don’t matter to Storr, but your reasoning doesn’t hold water.

Where else would I put this than the recruiting thread....

Storr decommits b/c our assistants left. Then shows up on campus? And our new coaching staff hit it out of the park with him today too?

Then immediately announces an OV to KU.

What are you hearing AJ?
The visit went perfectly, weather was great etc. Will be interesting to see if Annette joins the photo shoots at every visit or if that’s unique to IL. They love the coaches and the environment. IL is AJ’s dream school (though Izzo is his favorite coach). He decommitted because 1) the staff left and he has PLENTY of time and 2) his stock is blowing up. If he ends up coming back, which I anticipate, then we’ll have our first 5⭐️ (debatable that he ever gets that ranking as an IL commit tbh)

Friends, I sure hope we get bigs with the last 2 schollies, agree with someone earlier...we will be playing 3 4's alot, Purdue will kill us down low next year, also what do we do when Payne gets in foul trouble. Last note...wish we had Giorgi another year.

So, are you saying if he picks a blueblood he might be a 5 star? How does that work?

One of jokes/memes/complexes common to this board and Illini fandom in general is the belief that recruits drop in the rankings when they commit to Illinois but skyrocket if they go to a blueblood. This invariably leads to the related joke/meme/complex that all of our recruits are underrated.

It would be an interesting list to see how many truly underrated players we’ve had vs. what was said about them (here) at the time. I’d venture less than 10% were actually undervalued.
