Is it possible we miss out on a lot of high profile recruits because BU runs an honest program?

Nice to see Goode shatter the myth that he's just an ok shooter. Love that he's pressing 6' 7" now too. Think he's gonna be a good one. Maybe even better.

I think this is a bit naive.

It seems self-evident that a heavily cheating program isn't going to have a ton of misses like Illinois has had recently, so I'm hesitant to think there's much here...BUT, I still wouldn't go throwing stones at others because of how common violations and scandals have become. Just too much money in the sport to think otherwise, or that it's not the tip of an iceberg.

Like any good (unrealistic) fan, I want it both ways --top recruits with no trouble from the NCAA. HA!

OT, Giorgi, Cole, Jermaine, BBV give us a lot of possibilities of size. Goode, Jacob, and Hutch offer a lot of size at the wing and BU keeps mentioning Cole there. Could also see DaMonte there if he returns. Lots of depth if Hutch and BBV not healthy. Actually would like to see another point guard added. With the expected transfers, could be lots of possibilities. Do think it is distinct possibility to lose some of that depth to transfers out however.

The harshest part was " he's not even in shape".
I can only think that the comments were public shock psychology to get the kid motivated to work his a_ _ off.
How'd that work out for him?

Any kid who joins a college basketball program fresh out of high school is about 99% sure to not be in shape by P5 standards. There are very few Zion Williamsons. Most of these kids know that. So no, I don't think it was harsh. It was a simple statement of fact. In this context out of shape doesn't mean a blubbery mess. It just means you're not a ripped, physical specimen yet.

A is for Addidas
Under the category of recruiting for dummies, could someone let me know if are all 13 of the Illinois players are from Nike AAU programs? I would think if it's impossible for Illinois to sign kids who aren't Nike then we are wasting time recruiting them. (not just this particular recruitment, more a general question) When things get back to normal and there are big summer AAU events again, do our coaches go to them and see an Adidas team playing and figure we might as well not even recruit that kid? Or are there examples of us getting Adidas players?

OT Games this year at WVU (points/rebounds):

S Dakota St. 7/3
VCU 11/16
Western KY. 5/7
Gonzaga 14/9
Georgetown. 9/6
NorthTexas 0/7
Richmond 12/5
Iowa State 12/5
Kansas 3/5
Northeastern 12/15

Up and down like a lot of freshmen, but some pretty impressive performances. 78 total rebounds in 10 games - 38 were OR.

He’s not a freshman bud, ergo pretty awful in comparison to his contemporary Kofi

This may have been covered and I missed it...but since OT played the first half of this season, would he not become eligible to play until spring semester next year?

Like the 14/9 game against the Zags.....pretty good numbers against #1 team in the country....but then you got N Texas which....well aren't so good

The transfer portal is going to be loaded with really good players. It’s going to be more like NBA free agency, which is fun. Even if we swing and miss with both, it’s no time to panic. I’d really like one of them at least though.
