I think he said he wants to help us bring home a national championship because it's "something [we] haven't done in awhile."

Uh Oh Sam GIF by GLOW Netflix

Who's going to tell him? I nominate . . . anyone other than me.
Marc Maron has entered the recruiting thread lol. I love this place.

Haven't seen 0440 around in a bit? Was he the player to be named later in the rbachhuber trade?
I'm hearing 0440 is a more athletic Larry Bird.

If he does leave, I hope he doesn't go to anyone in our conference.

Maybe we should hire his high school coach.

I'll bet my beach house he comes back.

Yes you do. Miller is proving each day that he does not want to be here.
Miller is never going to be devoted whether or not he returns. Rumors swirled whether he would decommit as he was an incoming freshman, and then he puts his name in the portal because his camp thinks he should be there instead of Belo, yikes. I'm sure we'll be happy if he returns, but who's to say he won't explode if one of our incoming freshman come in and beat him out for a spot?

Add Brewer to a healthy Hutchinson, Belo and possibly Trent and that is a pretty good backcourt.

If Miller doesn’t return (I hope he does), next season’s squad likely won’t have a single starter who was raised in the State of Illinois. I cannot recall that ever being the case. And with Leib being the only other Illinoisan among our last dozen recruits/transfers, this is something we’ll be seeing for awhile.

I don’t know whether this will be good or bad, but it sure is ... strange.
I'd sure love some more Carribbean players

Not only that, but we were never told if it was going to be bad or good. So how am I supposed to feel now?

Did we narrowly miss out on something amazing? Did we miraculously avoid an impending disaster? What am I supposed to do with my hands? Answer me, insiders! Answer me!!

Not an insider and though I can’t specifically tell you what to do with your hands per se, I will point you in the direction of the great George Carlin, you said something like you can prick you finger, just don’t finger your prick.

Werner and Piper had a good discussion about this on their pod the other day -- I am sure that the discussions between Adam (+ team) and coaches is going to be very frank and straightforward. At this point, there's no reason or use in being coy, and that means being crystal clear about what his role would be, how he'll have to earn it, how there will be no tolerance for being upset about his role, etc. And, importantly, if he does come back and still ends up "exploding" at some point, you can still just usher him towards the portal. Downside risk is relatively minimal -- if it works, great, and if not...well, he's familiar with how to do these things now.

Edit: I'm not sure what you classify as "devoted," but I don't think you're accurately reflecting how he played for our team this year.

Him and his brother are both returning to ETSU
Are you sure? Brewer looks like a High Div 1/P-5 player. Great 3pt, mid range, size, athletic abililty, good handles. Looks like the type of player Baylor has x 4

Payne has 3 years of eligibility remaining, right?

Wow do I not care about this. I want guys who want to play for us. Who cares where they are from ? Like the idea of being a national program.

BU in discussing Melendez said he had no role for him other than make him a better player. Too much talk about roles, how about more discussion about skill development. Belo is where he is because he can handle the ball at a high level and penetrate and score or dish. Miller at this point has shown limited ability to drive or handle the ball like a PG, he is a spot up 3. Years ago Illinois tried to get Cory Bradford to get back to driving the ball and not just settle for 3s. Knee injuries hampered him, but it wasn't Krueger/Self who dictated that he be only a spot 3 player.

I was in the camp of "take Ace back" until this post. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but if other people behind the depth chart beat out Ace, we could easily be back to square one. I could 100% see him in the portal mid-season.

Or we play it safe and get a guy like Plummer. I feel a lot better about it all now if we end up giving his scholarship away. I'll still take him, but you're playing with fire if he doesn't have the impact he wants.
