For those upset about the NIL and the change in recruiting, I think there needs to be a recognition-- kids were ALWAYS paid. Some more than others. Some in cash. Some in cars. Some with a job for a parent or coach. Some get to take easy classes (or none, --cough cough UNC). Some schools provided morally questionable partying options. Today, the difference is that we hear about it, we see it, and we know about it. If you liked college basketball when all the deals were hidden, you should still like it today. In fact, the NIL and Transfer Portal make college basketball BETTER in my view. Why? Because the game is now in the open. It is honest - some kids want the most money. Some want playing time. Some want to build a legacy at one school. Some want to chase a championship by going to a great school for their final year. Some kids will make great decisions and not transfer (Trent Frazier could have transferred, btw). Some kids make terrible decisions. Some kids make a decision and things don't work out as planned (Adam Miller). But, a system that is more open is infinitely better than what existed. I gave up on college basketball because it was the most dishonest sport on earth - fake amateurism and the hypocrisy of the student athlete. My view - college basketball is now BETTER.

1) None of this NIL discussion is a surprise or should be. It ain’t changing so just get used to it.
2) Recruiting and NIL have become two peas in the same pod. (NIL thread would be a good place to discuss the ramifications to college basketball.)
3) Chesters tweet says it all. To some, the $$ is more important than the fit or role. Brad’s goal of finding guys that fit the culture is going to be more challenging going forward.

Any legitimate portal recruiting news? After nearly a month of all this speculation, I look forward to us signing our first recruit from the portal.
