Kofi played at Oak Hill with some guys that never passed him the ball. he got all his points on offensive rebounds.

Cam Thomas 6'3" HS SR 26 ppg 4 rbg 3 apg. One and done at LSU drafted 1st round 27th by Nets
Cole Anthony 6'3" HS SR 18 ppg 10 rbg 10 apg. One and done at UNC drafted 1st round 15thMagic

Cole Anthony sure registered a lot of assists for not passing the ball.

I was sitting in Marty Pattin's place in Charleston watching the game. When Chambliss hit his home run, I was the only one to cheer(I was a Yankee fan). I almost got thrown out of the place.
That's awesome. I was drinking at a Bennigan's near O'Hare watching game 6 in' 77 when Reggie
hit three home runs to wrap it up. I got pretty rowdy
and was asked to settle down or leave. He swung
at three pitches and connected on all three.
Pretty amazing.

Kofi stood around quite a bit and put in very minimal effort. I for one was quite concerned that he didn't have the drive and work ethic to succeed in college, and I was not alone.

While some have called out, he may be held out of the NBA because he doesn't have the drive to put in extra work. He apparently put in enough work to have a dominant college career. I'm assuming the coaching staff deserves a great deal of credit, but also Kofi physically was on a different plane.

To summarize, it's because the man grew up a very early Yankees fan.

Sounds like you and others know more about Kofi's high school days than most. I always felt he was getting tired or burned out some towards the end of the season ... putting together 2 great games in a row seemed a challenge. Ofc, we expected so much.

I would say, however, that while he often laughs off his critics about his ability to play in the nba, I think he would not have hired an agent if he didn't believe he could do the things necessary to get truly NBA ready, which may take time/G League/overseas.

Yeah but did you see he shot 50% from three? Obviously we didn’t use all his talents.
