Agreed. The B1G has already shown us that they will give the B1G title to an obviously inferior UM team and therefore do not consider us worthy. That, and the fact that there was ZERO retribution for MSU when they mauled the best player in the nation, yet, our guy would be suspended for at least a week.
So, the lack of the B1G to generate an equal playing field makes this tournament worthless to me. I am sure our players would like to get the BTT title, but I am also positive they would rather have the first ever U of I NCAA championship in basketball. FIRST EVER. BTT? Nah, we have more important things to do. Let us know when you decide to treat us as equals.

I personally, would love to see a rematch with Squawks and Garza.
But, aside from COVID-19, which would be horrible, it might be interesting to sit Kofi, Ayo, Da'Monte, Adam, Jacob and Andre. Just play the limited bench players. If one fouls out, go with 4. If two foul out, go with three. It worked for Gene Hackman! AND, it would be a great message.
Purdue is playing really well. I believe better than Iowa. I also think we match up better with Iowa.

Purdue got the 7"4" Edey, plus they are on a 5 game win, beat Mich State and Wisky...toss in Williams, Stefon....they look like trouble.

Illinois and Michigan are the only two other schools with a 7' player that can body Edey. He's tall, but didn't seem overly physical in the game against IU yesterday. He was pushed around a bit by smaller dudes.
With a year of development he'll worry me a bit more. For now, I think Kofi and Giorgi match up well with him and he doesn't concern me as much.

Players would hate this and be demoralized. This is not who we’ve been this year.

Agree, TC. What a horrible idea. Sounds like something scUM would do. Maybe Coach thought that way early on at one point, but I don't think Coach or Josh would even think in this direction now that we’re on a roll. As Coach said in the huddle in the post game celebration, “Three more. And then six more.”
