This is a great opportunity for us. We have Purdue and a couple other top BIGs at home before we have to go on the road to play them... good schedule for us. I have guarded optimism that we will win this one. Kofi needs to stay out of foul trouble and we need to shoot better from 3 point range and rebound (lacking in offensive rebounds the last 2 games). We are playing at home, so the baskets optics are in our favor.

We have 2 really good bigs also and I like Kofi and Payne. This game is going to come down to the guards. If we make the 3 unlike last game I like our chances. We need to shut down 55.
I believe Kofi is better than either Edey or Williams, but both of them get about 20 minutes a game. Payne, so far, is not near the talent level of either Purdue centers. I hope Payne does not have to play extended minutes.

I don’t think Omar is at a talent deficit. He’s an incredible athlete. His issues are discipline and skill. He’s a non-shooter and fouls a lot needlessly.

Edey, Williams. and Kofi all have a reasonable probability to be drafted and play in the NBA. Payne is young, has talent, but has a long way to go before anyone would say he is going to get drafted. He really needs a lot of work and discipline.

Good to know (and I mean that sincerely). Watching on TV, it really did look like they were flat and tired. The way the refs were calling things didn't seem to help on that front.

I could see when it started to click toward the end of the game, but everything else seemed disjointed and that concerned me. Good to know that wasn't the case in person.
I was at the game as well - and it just seems that every time we would start to make a run, or the crowd would start to get loud, there would be some ticky-tack foul called and completely derail any momentum we had at the time.

I'm hoping you're joking. Do you realize what time it will be on the east coast 3 to 5 hours later?! That is 11:15pm to 1:15am. Maybe I misread your meaning.
Obviously you did. 3 to 5 hours after our game is scheduled to start is 3-5pm E/12-2pm P. It would be a lead in to the NFL game.

They are better 1 thru 9, we are better in the starting line-up. 2 teams that will or could beat each other on any day. I'm happy that our program is in the conversation with the top teams in the country. I love being nervous for these games instead of just assuming a loss.

Illinois is currently at #10 nationally in the Sagarin rankings. Purdue is #4 while MSU and Iowa are in the second ten. Wisconsin doesn't show up in the top 20. FWIW.

Just keep on winning. This will be a tough game. Hope the guys have their legs. Pu had an easy game against Neb. Now show Pu who is the King of BT basketball.

With respect to offensive rebounds, I was surprised at how often everyone was going back on D in the Michigan game, leaving Kofi to go one on four for offensive rebounds. I'm guessing we will go after them more against Purdue.

Stevanovic and Ivey play 28 mins per game, everyone else 20 or less. Assume it is Trent on Ivey and DMW on Stevanovic. Matchups fine unless we get into foul trouble. They will have advantage when Omar is playing but not huge with Hawk beside him. Really think it will come down to shooting. (Surprise there).

Very cool. He’s not sure where he’s heading. In at PU, PSU and MSU, still waiting on WI and the beloved.
The Beloved . . . the one true way . . .

I noticed this too. Underwood traditionally wants our guards in on the rebounding. I thought this must have been intentional. Respecting Michigan speed and intent on scoring before our defense can set up maybe?

Once again , purdont lost on the road to Rutgers........we beat Rutgers by 35 points in the SFC.......Monday's game is at the SFC.........I really think purdont is overrated just like the Rocket mort-gaggers (msu )
I hope you are right but Rutgers seems to be playing pretty well since the Illinois beatdown. They are 4-2 beating PU and Michigan (1st win over Michigan in 87 years. Of course, I don't know how many times they played before Rutgers joined the conference). Maybe the Illinois game was the outlier, their "Cincinnati" game. Although if you look at it a different way, maybe their win over Purdue was their outlier game
