I wrote a post recently about the Curbelo situation and coach being rather secretive about whats going on. Someone replied concussion symptoms. I knew it was something besides this. Would love to know whats really going on.

There are issues that can linger on after a concussion itself is no longer a problem. I would bet we may not see Belo until after first of the year. Hoping for the best.

pretty much every game I have the same thought at least once: in the tourney we will get a ref who will call at least 2 or more offensive fouls on Kofi.
You want to be terrified? Watch this short YouTube video from the NCAA on this year's "emphasis" on post displacement, "especially on back down plays" in order to "reduce physicality."

I fear Kofi will be called for all kinds of offensive fouls this season depending upon who is reffing the game...

Sean May would have fouled out before the first commercial break, if this rule had been in place in 2005.

Yeah, agreed. What I'm afraid of is that the new rule will allow Kofi to bang with other legit bigs (Trevion Williams, e.g.) but will protect all these weak centers who can't hang with Kofi and are 50+ pounds lighter (Nate Reuvers being an example at about the 2-minute mark). That one, in particular, did not look like a foul to me.

If I remember right, this would have been in 79. We lost to a very good Ohio State team in a very tight next game and Steve Lanter tore his knee up and we fell apart.
Yep. We lost 69-66 in OT. We made the cover of SI the following week but not in a good way (though the article inside covered our upset of MSU.)

This could be as big a problem for screening drives as it is for scoring. Have never liked the banging the defensive guy with his butt until in position. Rule may help our smaller guards from being posted by larger men. Actually like the rule, just not as much this year. Wouldn’t really hurt Garza and Dickinson. Kofi just seems to go thru them with his strength rather than banging them. Wonder if this rule is why Dickinson looked so bad in their game.

I’m sure it’s exaggerated over time, but my memory is that under both Lou and Bruce we so often rolled during the pre-conference season just to flop in early conference games and put ourselves in a hole. I recall at least one late Lou year where we may have even been undefeated in noncon and then missed the tournament.
Definitely defined the post-Dee Weber years … seems like a parade of seasons where we’d be ranked going into the Braggin’ Rights Game or even the start of Big Ten play only to be nervous as hell on Selection Sunday after our obligatory loss to Penn State erasing whatever random upset at home we scored the week before.
