- 9th man conundrum
Coach Taylor! let's go!!!
In hindsight, Wisconsin might take him back.his three big hires were really outside the box.
Lovie came out of nowhere. Obviously it didn't work, but it sent a message.
Getting Underwood after one year at another P5 is incredible. I'm sure it's happened, but not very often.
I'm not sure how many other ADs even go after Bielema. It's turned out brilliant.
Not to pick nits, but I'll pick a nit. The WIU game was on a Friday night last year. I remember getting delayed leaving Springfield due to a traffic accident on I-55 & barely getting to the game in time for kickoff. I was blown away at the crowd for a game against WIU. Had to park out by the Vet Hospital lot. Signs of a program on the uptick vs the old days. I remember a WIU game from like 2012 or so where we took our 5 family members and a couple of friends of my son's. Had like 7 people. Bought 10 tickets on stubhub for a total of like $20 just to have extra room since it was soooo cheap.Final Gies Memorial Stadium Sellout Watch for UAB:
We're tracking to have about 4,000 less tickets sold than Week 1 last year (Saturday game). The Western Illinois game had paid attendance of just over 56k. I think we get up to about 52k. So that's my official attendance guess: 52,000

Yeah; I saw that on ESPN a couple days ago, too.Strange that on ESPN, it says, “Tickets as low as $207.” Way higher than anyone else and double Clemson @ LSU!I’m guessing that’s a typo.
When I clicked on it, it sent me to the Northwestern vs U of I game. It seems like the Ryan Field prices are skyrocketing.Strange that on ESPN, it says, “Tickets as low as $207.” Way higher than anyone else and double Clemson @ LSU!I’m guessing that’s a typo.
Among Bret's great accomplishments his ability to connect with Illinois high school football around the state is perhaps the best thing he has done. I mean do places like Arthur, Gibson City, Byron, etc produce many D1 caliber players. No, but you can bet if they do, Bret knows about them & the coaches are seeing a track record of those guys getting chances to play at Illinois. He really connects with those programs.

ole pru just woke up from a nice 3 hour nap on my new Saatva bed getting ready for an awesome night of viewing pleasure starting off with Illini season opener and then watching the replay of the Cardinals -Dodgers game later on......
Football season ushers in fall weather coming but this midwestern heat wave causes concerns for our Illini......get the win and stay hydrated.........
here's to an Illini and Cardinals victory night..........

we aren’t going to lose many guys like Mack Sutter again .Among Bret's great accomplishments his ability to connect with Illinois high school football around the state is perhaps the best thing he has done. you can never get them all - you just want a fair opportunity.
ND or Oregon can always swoop in and steal a guy . but the days of Iowa , Wiscy or Purdue doing that are pretty much over
