Those traps Domask was seeing would have doomed us if it wasnt for TJ’s one man show. And provided UConn with a roadmap of how to stop our offense IMO. Marcus is the key. TJ is gonna get his.
But if they haven't been playing that style all year, it'll be really hard to implement it as well as ISU did. If we're lucky, that means more foul calls in our favor since they'll likely be reaching in, too.

At this point in the season, teams aren’t going to make wholesale changes. Plus, if you’re UConn, why would you make any major changes? They are the best team in the country. What they’re doing seems to be working.

They will obviously have to account for TSJ, but it will be in the context of their strengths.

Illinois is the #2 rated offense in the country and UConn has 41 hours to prepare for them. Doesn’t sound like fun.
That’s the attitude we need to win this game.

This isn’t a best of 7 - make a few shots your not supposed to and have a few balls bounce our way.

Plenty of seasons where the best team doesn’t win the championship.

They didn’t finish the upset but I seem to remember a certain 3 seed in the top left of the bracket up 15 with 4 minutes to play over a 1-loss overall one seed in 2005…

I dont think they are going to try and change up their style to trap, my point was more stop Domask and you stall our offense outside of TJ.

My thought for this game is we must score more than 80 , Goode must be hitting 3s, and Dainja must be competitive at the post , along with everyone else having a good game. I dont think we can spend time practicing free throws, we must practice attacking Ucons style of play.

Playing on house money, U-Conn, Smoo-Con, bring 'em on. Danny Hurley will have less hair after this one. Go Illini.

Well how convenient that our defense also can switch 1-4 and runs teams off the 3 point line. I am a little worried about having to face an offense like theirs that runs set plays without much time to gameplan but Illinois has the tools to slow them down.

Its really going to be a track meet tthough. I hope we see a game like Alabama/UNC where both were high scoring but the pace of Alabama wore UNC down.

Unbeatable teams that lost in the tourney: 1991 UNLV (Larry Johnson, Stacey Augmon, Greg Anthony). 2006 UCONN (Rudy Gay), 1983 Houston (Phi Slamma Jamma), 1985 Georgetown (Patrick Ewing, Reggie Williams), 2015 Kentucky (38-1), 1999 (Duke (Elton Brand 37-2), among others.

Most of these won every game in a blowout - until they didn't. Why not us?

Have said since start of tourney that Cohawk is most important. He has been more up and down than TSJ and MD. He has really showed up. Tomorrow I think we may see a career game from Dain. He was a little too hyped up tonight but was in all the right places. Expecting the coaching staff to find just the right words to get him settled. If he is locked in could be incredible. His interviews are showing a young man with growing confidence. culture BU has built is amazing. You can see it, hear it, and feel it.

This sounds too simple, I know: Watching some UConn games, I think we are going to get some good looks -- more than against ISU. If the Illini hit those shots at their normal clip, I think they can score in the 80s. MD may not be able to get all the way to the glass with booty ball, but I do think he can get close enough to be really effective with that hard-to-defend 10-foot soft fadeaway. If so, that will open up more of the Illini offense. Rebounding will be critically important because you cannot let UConn get multiple chances on the same possession.
