If it wasn’t already painfully obviou, a statement from the AD with no quote from the head coach drives home the point of how this decision came about. Pitchforks were probably out big time and daddy ferentz seemed to have really been denying the reality of the situation.
Makes you wonder if he understands football any longer. It’s not like Brian was ever going to be promoted to HC. At best it was a way to line the son’s pocket at the expense of Dad’s reputation.

I was wondering if this is the best thing to happen to Mr. Brian. Get out from under daddy's shadow. Maybe dad's philosophy was holding him back. (shrugs)
Daddy has always sought to do what’s best for the program, which coincidentally includes his son as OC, the very best in the entire nation. If so, somebody else will snap Brian up quickly. He also claims he first heard of Brian’s firing when his boss announced it.
