While I'm extremely sad for Jake and it no doubt limits our ceiling a bit, the play time that Barnes, Tolson, Johnson, etc. are getting in the absence of both him and Hart is extremely valuable.

To me, Jake will probably be the player I most associate with the Lovie-era, for better or for worse. Fundamentally sound and a turnover machine. Will be curious to see how he recovers and trains for the NFL - seems like the type of linebacker that can stick with a team with effort and production even as a late rounder or (more likely) UDFA.

I see him as a very good special teamer. One that will stay in the league and get paid.

Y'know when we broke out in basketball my mind naturally traveled to the Aaron Jordans and Malcolm Hills and Tyler Griffeys and all these guys who gave the program so much more than they got during their time here and how their dedication and leadership during hard times kept the fire burning for the program.

Hansen is that kind of guy for the football team.

I always feel bad for Malcolm Hill. Such a stud that played during the wrong era. Probably our best player in between Dee Brown and Ayo (you could definitely argue for Brandon Paul) and never even saw an NCAA Tournament game. Griffey at least has the shot against Indiana and darn near reaching the sweet 16 that year.
