For all the central Illinois fans here is a player we could/should have had at one time. Why do some of these former players who have a degree or two from very reputable universities make such silly decisions.

Ouch. He's been charged with a class X felony, which carries a possible 6-30 years in prison. He might be able to get probation if he pleads guilty to something else or turns in the dealer who gave him the bookbag. Not sure that a "I didn't know what was in the bookbag" defense would be particularly successful.

I was curious and did some quick Googling... it looks like the going rate for heroin is about $150/gram, and he had over 70 grams per the article. That's over $10k in heroin.

Not really sure why he'd do something that dumb. That's too bad.

He will likely also have trouble outside of going to prison now as well. Odds are he's gonna owe someone a lot of money and/or drugs now.

LewJack City. Why? Because he didn't invest in his education. There are jobs out there. But in many ways easier to live an unstructured life.
