It doesn't matter which one you call "point guard", Lucas has great court vision, is a great passer, and plus defender. Hard to believe you actually watched him much and came to those conclusions. He will improve the team on both ends of the floor and he will only get better coming off his freshman season. He's going to get his minutes.

Thank you!

It's not a traditional pg and sg combination. Both smith and Lucas can be primary ball handlers.

BOOM! Feed my ego.
I don't understand this line of thinking. JCL is not competing with Alstork for playing time. JCL's playing time is not at risk because of any transfers, there are not better players blocking him - it will be completely up to JCL in terms of how he buys in to the new system and develops his game. His table is set and its there for the taking

I don't think JCL agrees with you.

We will probably see a mix of all of the guards and maybe even Kipper included if we get another big. Probably fewest of TF and TJL at the same time due to their size. However, UConn won a national championship playing two 6 ft guards and one was the leading rebounder. Much of it will be chemistry and their defense. IMO our two best defensive players in 16-17 were the freshmen. It will be a great sign if they aren't starting next season because it means someone is playing better.

Does anyone else see some huge similarities between Alstork and Rayvonte Rice?

Mid Major to Big Ten

Can shoot a little better than Rice

Shot form nearly identical

Body nearly identical (give the edge to Rice in that category)

Good slashers/drivers (edge to Rice again)

Ability to finish at and above rim

I could go on and on but seems to me we got Rice 2.0 which i would not mind having.

Alstork seems like a better ball handler and passer than Rice plus he can post people up as well.

Yes on your analysis, yet I see a lot of similarities to Alstork and Smith, as well. They'll be the M&M guys on the court when together giving the other team fits.

We suddenly have a number of guys that are matchup nightmares. If BU's offense sticks we could be pretty scary.

As far as big go, hope Fletch is locking Black & Finke in the weight room.

From a Purdue fan, congrats on the pick up! I really wanted Painter and staff to pursue him (with Swanigan's expected departure). He looks like the total package for a guard (other than maybe super-elite athleticism)!
