I'm fairly certain the rule is you can't block more than 1yd past the line of scrimmage on a forward passing play as a wideout prior to the pass. And in fact a couple years back there was added initiative to have refs focus on these types of illegal pick plays. During the game thread I was livid about them not throwing a flag there. It was so clear and obvious live when I posted it was pick play, and when they showed the replay it was even worse. That play is consistently called a penalty, especially when it occurs right in front of the official staring at it the whole way. In general the refs called the game consistently (not well, but consistent), but in the final few minutes of both halves, every single call went Michigan's way and those calls were inconsistent with how the rest of the game was called. And that's why it's infuriating. Because it looks like the fix was in. And let's be honest, the visuals on this are not good at all either as the B10 benefits greatly by Michigan winning this game as they have a very good chance of getting 2 teams in the CFP, but that doesn't happen with a Michigan loss. But to be clear, we shouldn't expect to get any close calls in the Big House- it's basically been that way my entire life. It's like expecting a fairly called game against the Hoosiers in Bloomington. Ain't ever going to happen.
