The last 8 minutes of our game yesterday took a toll on the rest of the day for me.........I was depressed and angry at the performance on national TV of the beloved.......I love this years team and all the components we have for a good progression in this years NCAA tourney...........I really really do...... But one thing is really really clear to me .........i want someone other than Marcus directing the offense in the last part of a game....Not demeaning his effort or skills , but dribbling is NOT one of his higher end skills....and the constant dribbling stagnates the offense at a time when we should be attacking the rim with abandon........having Marcus dribbling away 10-15 seconds off the shot clock leads to forced shots and unless we are rebounding like a banshee , it allows transition by our opponents and usually a bucket and even a and 1..... I have said many times that Ty is MY PG......I firmly believe in his skills as a PG and more firmly believe in his skills as a bucket getter and high altitude rebounder.....I have called him the energizer bunny , as his attack to the ball is already legendary.......... having him on the court over Luke is a no brainer for me as he gets the offense going in a way that Marcus can't do.......I would rather have Marcus available for a pass down low and his skills in the 5-10 foot range for a bucket....... Ty's improvement in FT accuracy leads me to believe he should be one of the players on the court until the bitter end or the bittersweet end....... I have always thought you play your best players at the end of the game for the best opportunity to win the game...... I fully support BU and hope he retires here , but I also will criticize him when I feel justified to do so , and yesterday's loss was his fault as much if not moreso than the players......He didn't make the 2 atrocious turnovers that marcus made , but keeping Ty on the bench MIGHT have led to that happening........I visualize Ty doing his twisting and turning in the paint for a deuce rather than passes 30 feet from the basket that led to at least 4 points for the zero-izzo's....... Let's not forget the two goaltends that were missed by the inept crew of clowns blowing the whistles yesterday..... I would like for Cohawk to start the next game with tape over his mouth in a display by him of the totally stupid peeps we have now disguised as refs........ JMHO........................
