For the record, I don’t think Ayo is PG, but I also don’t think he is the problem. The lack of any kind of half court offense is the problem. There are many consistent thoughts in this thread - lack of shooters, poor A/TO ratio, problems handling pressure/lack of dribbling. We have guys that can dribble/pass/shoot but the problem is we never get them in positions to succeed (aka get good shots). It’s been like that in the half court during BU’s entire tenure here. We masked it some in previous years by extended the ball pressure and forcing more TO’s that led to transition scoring. There is a reason why BU wants to score in 7 seconds. It’s because if we don’t get shots in transition, we don’t get good shots. Period. The offensive scheme needs an overhaul. The weave is laughable at best and produces nothing. Guys often look out of position and lost. Now, to be fair, it all looks worse when the effort is subpar and Mizzou took our lunch money in that area today. We looked lackadaisical the whole game. We can be better if we get second chance points, hustle to get TO’s and get out on the break, etc. But our half court offense has been and continues to be a dud under this staff.
