I can't find the stats, but I just remember him as a guy who got a lot of TFLs on 1st and 2nd down. Those really can change a drive.

I don't know about 1st/2nd down, but he had 57 TFL's for his career, per the article, the Illini record (at that time, or still?)

I recall he sometimes lined up in a tilted or angled stance, which I think Joe Greene invented at Pittsburgh. There is a YouTube video showing highlights of the All American Bowl, vs Florida, where you can see him doing this. That was an interesting bowl game, Jeff George vs Emmitt Smith. I went to that game, a cold night in Alabama.
