If we can get back to sustained success and attendance, it would be nice to develop something cool that's uniquely our own (a la jump around, wabash cannonball).

Something with a CU tie would be great, but not sure i can think of one that would fit.

Illinois alum, Chicago State dropout, potato potahto. He's an Illinoisan.

(By the way, if that's a little too modern for your taste, please consider the fact that that album was one of the biggest of my time in college and I'm in my mid 30's. Kanye did play then-Assembly Hall when I was there, great show.)

That show was great. I was in the nose bleeds and still loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, he's gone downhill since 808s and Heartbreaks.

A supercut of Illinois artists put together by the right DJ would be pretty awesome and could get the crowd going.

Naw, MBDTF, Yeezus, and Life of Pablo are phenomenal albums. I know I'm gonna get flack for this, but those three may well be his best work.

MBDTF was Kanye at his creative peak, IMHO. All of the Lights, Power, Runaway, Dark Fantasy, even Monster & Lost in The World. So many great songs start to finish. If you combine that album with the short film he produced to go along with it, it's a masterpiece. I'm also a big fan of almost everything pre-MBDTF...

I'm a little lower on Yeezus (hard to vibe to, but production and actual material is still great) and TLOP (feels a bit disjointed and hastily compiled) but actually like listening to Ye, which is more like an EP than a full album. I agree with most of the below article, which was written after Pablo was released.

Great list. Any list that recognizes "Gone" as one of Kanye's best tracks is good with me, even if I strongly disagree with "Jesus Walks" at #1. I'll have to gove Ye another chance. Wasn't really into it when it first came out. Is Donda any good?

"Believe What I Say" is the strongest track. It's not the worst album I ever heard, but if you put it up against MBDTF Kanye, it pales in comparison

in 1979, in C-U, when it came to local bands, we debated who was better, Head East or REO Speedwagon. But chicks liked Dan Fogelberg
