Hey - I know there are some gamers around here. Anyone else picking up one of the new consoles?

My launch day PS4 will arrive on Friday and I plan to spend most of the weekend in front of my TV playing games until my thumbs hurt (even gave away my tix to the tOSU game).

Target (all week) and Amazon (tomorrow) are having B2G1 on all of their games. So - I ordered COD: Ghosts, NBA 2K14 (looks amazing) and Madden 25. Those should keep me busy until at lease Christmas.

I'm not looking to get a new console until the prices go down. I'll probably eventually end up getting an Xbox One at some point though.

Awful.

I have a 360, but likely won't grab the One until this time next year. Just bought an alottment of games and my friends are all still on 360.

I've heard that the current gen is quite bad, but the PS4 / XBone versions are supposed to be much better. I'll find out soon, I guess.

The release date of COD: Ghosts was odd to me. Why not pair it with the PS4 / Xbox One debut? Seems to me more people would be likely to make a combination purchase; particularly first time gaming console buyers.

From what I understand, if you buy CODG for XB360 and then buy an XB1, there is a small upcharge to get CODG for the XB1. Kind of best of both worlds.

Also based on what I've seen, CODG is getting some pretty poor reviews.

When I purchased COD and Battlefield from Best Buy, they sent me a coupon so I could buy the next gen version for $10

This is what I'm looking forward to most (and I'm not a huge NBA fan):

I'll be getting a PS4 but probably not until spring. If anyone is going to play H Hour worlds elite, let me know.

There aren't really any games I'm dying to get around launch. My roommate bought Black Flag and that's all I need. Eventually I'm gonna buy a PS4 though. I'm gonna let the systems pan out a little first, work out the kinks, etc.

I sucked at it at first, but the more I play, the more I like it. Not as much as Black Ops II, but Black Ops is always going to be my favorite version of the Call of Duty's.

I LOVED BO2. The weapon rankings, the smoothness of gameplay, and pick 10 system were all great. Ghosts is confusing and the gameplay is a little choppy. I also don't like that you can have 10 perks, 900 kill streaks, and DOGS. It's a war game, not a street fighting game. Just a poor effort from Activision.

Try Battlefield - I really enjoy that game!

I enjoyed the Black Ops CODs more so than the Modern Warfare CODs. Though my favorite will always be COD: World at War; though I'm willing to bet that is an unpopular opinion.

Won't play Battlefield. All of my friends play COD. I'm also a top ranked player in the world on Black Ops, so it's tough for me to quit on that.

I'm the exact opposite. I've always enjoyed the Infinity Ward titles much more than those from Treyarch (at least until Black Ops 2). I thought World at War was terrible.

I bought a PS3 about a year and a half ago along with COD MW3. I'm pretty horrible at the game because I'm pretty slow with the controller and I often get called out by other players (very rude young'uns! :)) for being awful even though I've got a maxed 80 rank on a few weapons. But hey, wth, I have a blast playing! I've wondered about purchasing one of the earlier versions of COD so your guys' posts have me thinking I'll check out the local Bookmans for a used copy. I have a couple Resident Evil's, Gold Edition/Raccoon City, that I've only played a few minutes of and not sure if I'll ever get into them. Also have FF13 which I am enjoying and getting near the end game, looking to see what all goes on after that. Also have Borderlands 2 which is great fun and just beat Jack, always enjoy that game.

Fair enough - just a suggestion for a new game to play. I didn't mean to have it replace one. BF is much more realisitic, IMO, than COD. I have a few friends who were big COD fans that really have dropped the fanchise because of how piss poor it's become and switched to BF. I think you'll see that trend continue.

I don't know why, but I just can't get into Ghosts.

If anyone wants a teammate though, I'll play! PM for my GT.

World at War was my favorite call of duty. Then Modern Warfare: Original, then Black Ops 2 and 1. I didn't care for any of the Activision games past 1.

Favorite franchise has got to be Gears of War of Fallout though. Just can't top those.

I'll probably buy a new system sometime around next Christmas.

I play with a lot of older folks. They aren't very good, but the older they are the nicer they are it seems. They also make me look really good ;)

I only liked Drop Zone on MW3, and they didn't have a leaderboard for that type of game so that kind of sucked. Hated the rest of the game.

You can't buy a new PS3 or 360 right now for under $200 and they've been out for 7 years. The PS4 is debuting at $400. I think you'll be waiting a while to see a next gen system under $300. Might as well get them now.

No way am I buying a first generation system. High risk of it having bugs. I'll definitely be waiting for the second gen.

I'm actually waiting a few months because the selection of games for the PS4 is pretty dull at the moment.

With next-generation video game systems such as the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 hitting stores later this month, the console wars got even hotter today as electronics manufacturer Zenith announced the release of its own console, the Gamespace Pro, which arrives in stores Nov. 19. “With its sleek silver-and-gray box, double-analog-stick controllers, ability to play CDs, and starting price of $374.99, the Gamespace Pro is our way of saying, ‘Move over, Sony and Microsoft, Zenith is now officially a player in the console game,’” said Zenith CEO Michael Ahn at a Gamespace Pro press event, showcasing the system’s launch titles MoonChaser: Radiation, Cris Collinsworth’s Pigskin 2013, and survival-horror thriller InZomnia. “With over nine launch titles, 3D graphics, and the ability to log on to the internet using our Z-Connect technology, Zenith is finally poised to make some big waves in the video game world.” According to Zenith representatives, over 650 units have already been preordered.
