No Camp Rantoul: Football to hold fall training camp on campus

#2
Do other schools do Camp Rantoul-type things?

Also, just pre-emptively, this is a totally, 100% unrelated issue to the "satellite camp" NCAA ban that has been in the news. No relation whatsoever.

Lovie says some of the players will still be in summer school during camp. Did the two overlap in years past? and did players have to drive down to C-U to take tests and such during camp? I don't remember every hearing about that. I also wonder if having an indoor practice facility on campus is part of it, since it seemed there was always a storm or two in Rantoul every year that affected practices.

Makes sense to keep pre-season practices on campus.
But a part of me feels bad about camp Rantoul ending because it partially got started there due to the Air Force base closing and was always a nice little economic boost for a struggling community who always rolled out the red carpet for the football program.
