There is absolutely no reason that Pat Bryant should have to share the Big Ten Offensive player of the week honors with that clownish Ohio State quarterback Will Howard, whose game stats were a pedestrian 201 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Big whoop. Adding to the reasons why Howard should not have even been considered for the award this week is that he already won it just two weeks ago. Finally, he acted in incredibly bad taste by taunting Indiana and their head coach at the end of the game Saturday after scoring a meaningless touchdown to run up the score after a teammate had just made the class move of not scoring when he could have on the prior play by stopping on the one yard line.
Oh, and Big Ten, remember that Ohio State running up the score HURTS the Hoosiers chances of being the 4th Big Ten Team in the college football playoffs, which would cost the Big Ten both prestige and money, not to mention one of the best Cinderella stories of the 2024 college football season! The Big Ten should not only not be rewarding Ohio State for all of this, they should be calling Ron Day on the carpet for his idiotic decision to go for the meaningless touchdown, rather than having Howard take a knee, with the following idiotic explanation:
"Asked about the decision to go for that last touchdown in his postgame interview, Ohio State coach Ryan Day said he wanted to "leave no doubt." "We wanted to finish it the right way and make sure everybody knows that this is the Ohio State Buckeyes," Day said."
Pat Bryant deserved to be Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week while Mr. Howard's actions on the field were just offensive, period.

What a travesty that Pat Bryant never was named or added to the Fred Biletnikoff College Football Award Watch List for the best receiver in college football. There were 70 receivers on the list including 10 (TEN!) who played in the Big Ten. Does anyone believe that Bryant is not one of the ten best receivers in the Big Ten? RIDICULOUS! Furthermore, two of the 11 semi-finalists for the award that were revealed a week ago are Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton and Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith. Here are their 2024 receiving stats according to ESPN:

Touchdowns: All 3 have 9.
Receptions: Felton has 92, far eclipsing Smith at 52 and Bryant at 50. Advantage Felton.
Yardage: Felton has 1,097, while Bryant has 914 and Smith has 899. Again, advantage Felton.
Average yards per reception: Bryant is at 18.3, while Smith is at 17.3 and Felton is far in the distance at 11.9 yards per catch. Advantage Bryant.

So overall, I'll give you Felton as a semi-finalist. But why should Smith also be a semi-finalist when Bryant's stats overall are at least comparable and arguably slightly better? And Bryant never even made the original 70 person Watch List??? What were they thinking?

The correct response is, "He's from Illinois. They don't really matter."

I agree w you here about Bryant not having to share the award. But I’m absolutely glad OSU punched in that last TD. It was appalling to me that IU on their last drive didn’t even try to hurry up. They merely wanted to take as much time as possible and get a score to make the deficit look better and not leave any time on the clock for OSU. I’ve never seen a team lack urgency like that; instead playing for a closer score for the CFP committee. They didn’t care one iota about hurrying up, scoring quickly and going for onside kicks. Then the douchebag IU post game presser w his entitled, whiny answers made me dislike him even more. Lost what little respect I had for them.
