Setting aside your extremely weird WSCR beef that now spans multiple threads….why would media in Chicago pay the same amount of attention to Penn State that they would to the flagship university of their own state? Unless this was a huge national story, that’d be extremely weird.

And hey, wait a minute, there *was* a huge national story involving Penn State in the not so distant past, and IIRC, The Score and Bernstein in particular took flamethrowers to PSU in the wake of that one.

Only thing I think might be interesting is if the Beckman scenario plays precedent to this. The situations are similar but different(player accused Beckman vs a team doctor filing a suit).

It is interesting to note that against Penn State in 2021, Sean Clifford seemed visibly injured/in pain in the game against us and they just kept him out there. Not saying it has anything to do with this, but more that it's interesting to go back and look at scenarios where they're like "X player showing real toughness" even thoug they're clearly hurt.

Yeah, but that 'flamethrower' ran out of gas fairly quickly, and the Ped. St. University got off after many appeals, and really didn't suffer all that much...

Maybe if the Score had spoken out against Fitzgerald after Rashidi Wheeler's death in 2001, the "Car Wash" scandal that spanned two decades wouldn't have occurred. At least that's what one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuits against Fitzgerald has explicitly stated. The ex-player said that Fitzie thought he could get away with anything after keeping his job after Wheeler's death.
