Because we recruited him, I’ll comment here. So sad about Caleb Swanigan’s passing. I heard from a Purdue friend who lives in Fort Wayne that his weight had gone up significantly by the time of his death.

He did post a music video in April under his rap name and he was normal weight.
So he either lost it all again or it was recorded awhile back. idk.

I was struck by the recent loss of Caleb Swanigan. I know, he played for Purdue and he was a thorn in our side, but I think that is a tip of the hat to him. He was only 25 and died of natural causes. Crazy. I have the utmost respect for any player that goes through the paces in the B1G (and he also played for my adopted team the Trail Blazers). Anyways, just another reminder to give my loved ones an extra hug today.

The last time I saw Caleb, I'll bet he was over 500 pounds ... Kid had gone through so much in his life ... Such sad news

A quick "Google Photo" search produced the below picture. The article it is associated with says this picture is from 2021, along with the following regarding his "weight." Rest in peace, sad news indeed. :(

When Swanigan appeared for his May 17, 2021 court date, the former basketball player already weighed over 400 lbs (181 kg). So it is possible that his weight issues may have played a part in his early death.
