Agree. Although the pessimist in me can see us beating NU next week, yet NU still getting into a bowl with a 5-7 record due to their APR. Am I right?

Either way, we have a much better chance to win if Carr is still out next week.

That makes one of us.

We look like a team defeated and ready to get the season over with. Northwestern has something to play for on Senior day. Seems like a bad recipe for the Illini. I'd be pleasantly surprised with anything other than a blowout loss.

Lovie: Different schedule this week with Thanksgiving. Shifted things up a day.

Lovie: Last week was a disappointment. We've discussed that game enough.

Lovie: You get one more chance. When you get one more game to play, you'd rather it be your rival.

Lovie: Looking forward to playing a good Northwestern team.

Lovie: We have some seniors playing their last college game for the U of I. That has to be special for them.

Lovie: A win would do quite a bit for morale. We talk about finishing. You remember the last thing you do.

Lovie: I wrote quite a few checks to Northwestern (son went there). Pat Fitzgerald is a great man. Runs a good program.

Lovie: Don't need to discuss playing spoiler when you're playing your rival. They're someone you'd love to beat.

Lovie: For us, it's just about us ggetting our fourth win. Usually not pumped about that. We won't be in this situation very often.

Lovie: Tre Watson has had his moments. He's earned the role. LBs get in position to make plays in our system.

Lovie: Recruits see record but they see the direction of the program. That's what we sell. It's our first year. Its about our future

Lovie: Early on, we didn't know a lot about our football team. We know a lot more now.

Lovie: No discusses about players going pro right now. We have some seniors who will take next step to NFL.

Lovie: I'm giving as much advice as they want and some advice they don't want. Part of my job -- after the season.
