I think renting a seat back chair is a solid idea for this game. My row was very packed at a few games last year, and we had to squeeze into a spot that was about half of our actual ticketed space. I saw a lot of people last Thursday bring in those extra wide seatbacks Costco sells, so I expect this sellout might be even less comfortable. Thanks to SIllini1975, illiniE, Clngpl94, and Da88 for the information about seat backs. I appreciate it.
Thanks for the heads up. Our spots seemed unusually narrow last week. I’m going to be more diligent about using our full ticketed space with a sellout. Extra wide seat back cushions gotta go unless you buy two tickets. Otherwise it’s like having someone raise the armrest on an airplane and flowing into your seat.My row was very packed at a few games last year, and we had to squeeze into a spot that was about half of our actual ticketed space. .
I bought this for $20 at the souvenir standSome of my family and I are going to attend. However, we are old. Two are in their 70s and another has a bad back. There are no seats with backs, are there? Do they have something to rent that has a back or attaches to the seat to make a back? Thanks
it looks goodI bought this for $20 at the souvenir stand

These are good options. Near Rally House is also Meijers. Not a traditional place to buy Illini gear but they'll have tailgating items as well.GameDay Spirit is on Neil and Kirby (and also another location on Green)
You can even order online and pick up in store:

There's also Rally House locations in the mall and on North Neil, by Sam's Club.

It's adjustable. After messing with it for a little while, yes, it helped a lot.it looks good
but did that give you much back support ?
There was a post I saw on the Phog that estimated that over 1/3 of the crowd would be KU fans because of how many Jayhawks live in Chicago. If there's one thing KU football fans are known for, it's traveling ~2.5 hours to see an away game when their KC fanbase doesn't even bother traveling 20 minutes to go to their home games. Not a lot of respect on the KU board, even speculating the only reason it’s sold out is the large contingent they’ll bring, lol. Which even if that is true, I don’t understand the arrogance on that subject … our meh crowds would sell out their smaller stadium. Even if they have over 15% of the 60,670 crowd (and they won’t), we’d have more folks in Orange than they literally ever have at a game.
Anyway, I guess respect is earned, and we haven’t earned it. Let’s go earn it Saturday.
On the Illinois Football Twitter post announcing the sellout, a KU fan in the comments predicted there would be 20,000 Jayhawk fans in attendance. LOL indeed. Not a lot of respect on the KU board, even speculating the only reason it’s sold out is the large contingent they’ll bring, lol. Amazing what one year of being a top 25 team can do for your overconfidence! On the Illinois Football Twitter post announcing the sellout, a KU fan in the comments predicted there would be 20,000 Jayhawk fans in attendance. LOL indeed.
My husband and I got Illini gear at Costco last time we were in town. Not a ton of variety in terms of color, though, but may be useful for future gamesThese are good options. Near Rally House is also Meijers. Not a traditional place to buy Illini gear but they'll have tailgating items as well.
...after 12 straight years without a single season of more than 3 wins.Amazing what one year of being a top 25 team can do for your overconfidence!
Attended last year's game in Lawrence and can confirm that their dinky stadium was nowhere near sold out. There was a post I saw on the Phog that estimated that over 1/3 of the crowd would be KU fans because of how many Jayhawks live in Chicago. Was going to screenshot it this morning to post here but I got busy at work, and now I can't find it.
So we’ll be 13k+ over what they’ve ever drawn once, but yeah, it’s all because of the notoriously passionate and well-traveled KU football fan base.Attended last year's game in Lawrence and can confirm that their dinky stadium was nowhere near sold out.
"The David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium at the University of Kansas has a seating capacity of 47,233. The stadium is located at 11th and Maine streets in Lawrence, at the base of Mount Oread."
Averaging less than 2 wins a year. I mean, we've had some futility, but that's really bad....after 12 straight years without a single season of more than 3 wins.
