Speaking of which, man did we have some weird experiences w/ Rutgers fans on Saturday. We were tailgating in Grange Grove, just off the main walkway, and it certainly wasn't the most crowded pregame group. We had Illinois stuff everywhere. Anyway, on about 4 different occasions, we had Rugters fans very boldly walk up to our tent and ask for drinks. This wasn't just a visiting fan being friendly and engaging in some good-natured banter. This was full on like we were their bar and they wanted service. "I'll have a vodka orange juice please". It was very weird. At one point it felt there must have been a sign on our tent that said open bar. We did ultimately give a couple drinks out, but by about the 4th request, we had to politely say no. What made this even more weird is that there couldn't have been more than 25 Rutgers fans in the entire Grange Grove area. At best I'd say maybe a 100 or so fans in the stands. I guess the world has to balance....on to Minnesota Nice this week.
