Ryder Cup

Great result for US.

But a couple of problems:

A few lunkhead spectators whose indecent and vile comments directed at the Europeans were audible during television coverage.

And the waste of great champagne: jeroboams of Moet are for guzzling, not spraying. Note to PGA and next captain: as your unofficial sommelier, may I recommend sparkling Chateaux Walgreens and Walmart as great drenching, bubbly wines.

Congrats to USA and Europe for being such gentlemen golfers.

That team played so consistently well, I was amazed. I used the BBC text tracker to follow along, and even that was a thrill. The Europeans actually played great golf, too, but the Americans were hot from start to finish. Lots of credit to Steve Stricker for fostering an environment to let success thrive. Egos are easy to upset in those environments, and it holds teams back. This team absolutely flourished, and it showed in the press conference at the end as well as the score.

I noticed that the crowd mic's were turned up WAY too high. All you could hear was the crowd and not the announcers. I've noticed this at a lot of sporting events. Seems like they want to try giving viewers the feeling of being there and go overboard.

Yes, crowd noise was way too loud. I watched PLENTY of tv coverage and said to myself 'if only they could lower the volume". But overall it was a great tv spectacle.
