Shohei Ohtani

The guy can finish 55-55, and he’s not even fully healthy. 😳 I’m surprised people aren’t talking about this more. He put up 10 RBI tonight. I told my kids to watch as much of him as they can because they probably won’t ever see another player like this in their lifetimes.

Absolutely. I'm so happy I was able to see him live. Hit a bomb too. As I've slowly matured, I've realized how much of my young adult life that I spent just hating on stars because of a threat to my sports heroes. You can still have your teams and favorite players while appreciate the greatness from others.

‘The Best Ever’ does not come around once in a generation. He (she) may come around once in MANY generations. That is, if he is truly the best ever.

Shohei Ohtani is beyond comparison with any other ball player in any era. There may be (and are) players who are better than he in one particular tool of his game – but no one has ever put the total package together at such a high level as this man.

Ohtani today joins Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky as the Greatest Player their sport has even seen. All three of these athletic geniuses combined an elite level of talent in multiple areas of their games that no other player could match. That's what sets the apart from other great players.

They are one reason we spend so much of our precious time watching sports. How often does one get to watch true greatness in the course of his or her life?

Genius never gets old. Genius inspires. Genius is found in rare moments and in rare people who bless and inspire the rest of us as to what our species is capable of.

Thanks, guys.
