Binninigton's struggles continue as he allows seven goals on 35 shots.

CALGARY, Alberta — With Ville Husso taking over the Blues’ net by storm, Monday was a big night for Jordan Binnington — a night to reclaim some of his turf. After giving up four or more goals in four of his last six games, Binnington made his first start since Jan. 15 against Toronto.
Not that he got any help, but things got worse Monday. Binnington was shelled for seven goals on 35 shots in a 7-1 loss to the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome. It could’ve been worse, but coach Craig Berube pulled Binnington after two periods and brought Husso in for relief.
Call it a humanitarian gesture.
Binnington wasn’t the only Blue who had an early night. Defenseman Niko Mikkola has been one of the team’s top success stories this season, but not on Monday. He struggled all night, was minus-5, and played only 11 minutes 36 seconds. Like Binnington, he didn’t play in the third period.
