I thought that we did a good job defensively, protecting the middle of the ice.</p><p>“We gave up outside shots, but we didn’t give them their freebies-in-the-slot shots. I thought we did a good job.”</p><p></p><p>Put it all together, and that’s why the Blues have won their last three games. Which means they’re playing the style of hockey that Berube feels is necessary to be successful.</p><p>Sure, the Blues have had some puck luck, as evidenced by the <a href="https://www.stltoday.com/sports/hockey/professional/the-blues-jordan-kyrou-and-robert-thomas-are-ready-to-build-on-breakout-seasons/article_777557ac-1d66-5c29-bdbf-b853d1641b12.html" target="_blank">Robert Thomas</a> and Brandon Saad goals against the Avalanche.
