[QUOTE="hoopsfan47, post: 1800842, member: 4716"] Thoughts: 1. As a recruit, how can you not want to spend time in this environment with elite coaches and a support system that will max your skill set as a player, student, and health? One would have to think twice before heading into the world of the NBA before getting the full benefits of preparation for it that can be provided by this Ubben staff and facility. 2. Yet, trying to achieve excellence in anything is and always will be prioritized differently by almost every entity. This board is for Illini basketball fans....I can't imagine a plethora of negative reactions but the major reaction should be many smiles...and many future victories. Yet, above all, there should be many lives, such as Myers Leonard and Ayo Dosunmu, changed and. as those to have done, effecting multitudes of others in positive ways. 3. To a recruit, this says loudly...at the University of Illinois, we will prioritize providing the ultimate opportunity in every way for you to become the best student/athlete you can be. Work hard, be an "everyday guy", and we will take care of you. 4. The technology, and to a lesser degree, the psychology of competing in sport has advanced beyond the comprehension of most of us. As a high school athlete gifted in two sports, I had to seek my future somewhere else other than the University of Illinois. My buddies went there, my heart was there, but my future dreams could not be fulfilled there. That is not the case today. Now my dreams include living long enough to see the Illini win the NC game.
