I am talking 1956 to 1960 . basketball with Governor Vaugh, Mannie Jackson from Edwardsville (I believe the first black ballers in Illini history) wonderful players and great Illini. Timponies was across from Kams/Stan Wallace's gridiron.( Stan was an Illini football hero of the Rose bowl when we beat Stanford). The football coach was Ray Elliot. He was known for his inspirational half time speeches and teams that would have a terrific upset every year that would save his job!!!! His last name was actually Nusspickel so you can see why he used Elliot..... I have got several other memories but at 83 I need my rest, and a beer.........
