I am not a fan of the targeting rule. Whole lot of assumptions go into making that call.

I think "better safe than sorry" is the prevailing thought behind that. Can't say I disagree, football is naturally violent enough, no reason to be excessive.

That said, I do think there's times where a slight movement is made at the last second by the offensive player where a legal hit shifts to illegal. But the intent of the defense was not to be like. Maybe it's just what I see, but I feel like refs should be more aware of that.

Does purdue not suck this year?

It seems that way...or maybe Louisville is simply not good? If Purdue goes 6-6 I'm going to flip out. I don't think I could handle their "rebuild" taking off in year one and ours taking the full 4.
