College Gameday heading to Athens for Tennessee-Georgia.
I’m not gonna lie I really only pay attention to us and when Texas loses, but that is a monster slate for the SEC this weekend.
Just the opposite for me. If we beat Purdue we don't need a buffer. An IOWA victory is my #1 wish. Would love another game buffer over Purdue.
I'm not buying it. They really don't have a quality win. Maybe Maryland, but I think they are likewise overrated. The Minnesota game was without Ibrahim. The Purdue game will be tough regardless of what they do this week. That will be a 4 qtr. game.
You're much too football confident, Bret! (Got a Georgia MBA?)Just the opposite for me. If we beat Purdue we don't need a buffer.
Georgia would absolutely get in if Tennessee wins out.Yes, it is.
I'm hoping LSU beats Bama, but I'm pretty sure Bama will win comfortably. And Tenn @ Georgia is just one heck of a game. For the sake of not having 2 SEC teams in the CFP, I'm rooting for Tenn to win out and make it simple.
It seems to me Purdue plays close games, which probably means they have a decent offense and a leaky defense. They are probably not as consistent as us but we cannot let their pass game get going. Otherwise it will be difficult to run the clock, which will probably result in a close game.I'm not buying it. They really don't have a quality win. Maybe Maryland, but I think they are likewise overrated. The Minnesota game was without Ibrahim.
I know the same opponent comps can be overvalued, but look at the Wisconsin and Nebraska scores for them vs. us.
Hope they beat Iowa, because I always root against Iowa. And our matchup will look more important. A 14 point win against Purdue coming off of an Iowa win will look that much more impressive.
I merely stated that it would be a 4 quarter game. I did not say that we would lose. I don't look at Wisconsin and Nebraska. For one, we did not have to contend with Nebby's qb for 4 quarters. It might not have made much of a difference in the victory of margin and then again, the game might have been a little closer. Wisconsin is playing better football now under their new coach and we do have a better run defense. Now, here is my reasoning.I'm not buying it. They really don't have a quality win. Maybe Maryland, but I think they are likewise overrated. The Minnesota game was without Ibrahim.

It's highly likely there will be 2 SEC teams in, and the nightmare scenario for the committee is one in which they just wouldn't have any other choice but to put 3, doubly so if the fourth team is Michigan or Ohio State.
What the committee is rooting for is for the Tennessee-Georgia winner to beat Alabama in the SEC title game, an undefeated B1G champion, and for one but not both of Clemson and TCU to lose. That's asking for a lot, I bet it doesn't work out that cleanly for them.
Yeah, I suppose so, assuming the B1G champ is an undefeated Ohio State/Michigan. That would be another easy, clean dream scenario for the committee. Not if Clemson and TCU both go undefeated, right?
Georgia's demolition of Oregon would be (hypothetically depending on how the Pac 12 shakes out) way way better than the Michigan/OSU loser's best win (us! It would be us!)Also, in your ideal scenario for the committee, you don't think they will struggle deciding between 2 B1G teams vs 2 SEC teams? Georgia's schedule is pretty soft outside of Tennessee.
An IOWA victory is my #1 wish. Would love another game buffer over Purdue.
Gotta assume that favors IowaWell at least things are going to be fun in West Lafayette tomorrow:

Can you imagine if they did this at Illinois with Grange Grove tailgating being sold out and all the tents in all the lots, including the huge IFUND Donor tent?Well at least things are going to be fun in West Lafayette tomorrow:
I absolutely agree. From a betting standpoint, I really like Iowa at +3.5 and the under. The wind should slowdown O'Connell throwing and it takes away the stupid Petras decisions. Honestly surprised the over/under for total is around 40. Feels like a game where first to 10 wins.Gotta assume that favors Iowa

Brohm's teams historically play poorly in adverse weather (I remember a rain bowl in West Lafayette that Illinois won when we had no business winning). They ran well against Nebraska, but this isn't Nebraska.Well at least things are going to be fun in West Lafayette tomorrow:
