Week 12 Games

One of Clemson or Miami will lose. (They play each other in the ACC championship game.)

So people can stop gnashing their teeth. If Wisconsin wins out, they'll be in the playoffs...

...and will promptly be thrashed by Bama to the tune of 30 or 40 points.

OK, I see how ND will still make the playoff to make ABC/ESPN happy. Bama beats Auburn, then beats GA again, in the SEC Championship game. ND moves up to 6. Miami beats Clemson, ND moves up to 5. Either Wisc or Okla lose a game. I really don't want ND to get anything, other than a beat down from someone else on their schedule. But this looks rigged to me! (By the way, I haven't verified any schedules, standings, just off the top of my head).

Not a big nd fan, but they lost close to Georgia, and then the beat down by Miami.

ND is never afraid to play a tough schedule. Like EVERYONE they have a few easy ones, but they played GA, Miami, USC, NC state ranked 14 I think at the time will play Stanford.

They win out they deserve to be in the conversation if not actual playoff.

They'll get a nice Near Year's Six bowl (Penn State in the Cotton?), but if ND is to be part of the conversation, it'll only be in the context about how they got their a** whipped by Miami. Oh, and I'm a huge ND fan. Last Saturday ND basically lost twice in the eyes of the committee. They got beat on the field by Miami, but they also lost huge ground when Georgia got stomped by Auburn.

There's a quote in the article that made me think of the Illini:
And therein lies the rub for those who would brush off Alabama’s injuries and point to the never-ending crop of four- and five-star players riding the bench. Because while five-star inside linebacker Dylan Moses was a prodigy LSU recruited as early as the eighth grade, his talent can only overcome so much. He can’t outrun experience and he can’t suddenly be skilled in performing all the duties Hamilton was expected to take care of at inside linebacker.

If they're saying that a five-star player is struggling because of experience, I think it's safe to give our kids (and coaches) a break as they are gaining experience.

Not so sure about that. It's going to be really interesting to see what happens if Bama loses to Auburn. Does Bama get dropped? I really want to see that situation play out, because then we will see how much the committee values conference champions. Does a 1-loss Bama get in over an undefeated Wisconsin? Because a conference champion Auburn would have to be in despite 2 losses right?

The same situation could occur if Bama lost to Georgia in the championship.

They don't value conference championships. We saw that last year with the Penn State and Ohio State situation. Penn State won the B1G Championship and beat Ohio State head to head, but OSU was invited to the CFP.

Purdue giving Iowa a rough ride, 21-9 with twelve minutes left in third quarter. Navy and ND tied 10-10 in third.
