a tip of the cap for the job Lance Liepold has done at KU

many of us would have been okay with him getting our job, but we are lucky to have been blessed to get Bret .

Bret is the EXACT kind of guy we needed at that time . He has not dissappointed. If anything, its happened sooner than expected

To the question of speed of a turnaround, it's worth noting that what Leipold has done at KU was just full stop not possible in the world before the portal.

We've been a success story in that regard in some ways too, but I think what's most striking about Bielema is that from day 1 on the job he has embraced, worked with, and improved the roster he inherited.

Both of those represented the right plan for those particular situations.

With Kansas back in the rankings, the longest poll appearance drought belongs to Illinois, which was last ranked in 2011. And the Illini have positioned themselves to make the leap with a 4-1 start heading into their home game against Iowa next week.

Man, if it weren’t for that Indiana game we’d easily be ranked this week. Maybe even in top 20. Thinking we’ll have to win our next two to crack the top 25.
agree
if we flat out kick Iowa's butts, maybe we sneek in 23-25, depending on who loses. But I would not be surprised, that if we just get a regular type win, we find ourselves just outside the top 25 next Sunday

lets take care of business first and beat Iowa , the ranking will soon follow

I'm happy with Illinois right now but I can't argue with where they are right now in the polls. Played a bad non-con schedule and lost to Indiana. And Wiscy doesn't move the needle. Win 2 more and they should be ranked no doubt.
Don't think anyone is asking for them to be higher or anything and we are all happy to start being a factor

A butt kicking would very likely be needed, but the polls right now are pretty volatile. I think 7 teams jumped into the rankings this week. Unfortunately. one of the teams that fell out was Minn, so it is no secret that BIG west is down. I wonder when the last time no team from BIG west was ranked is?

Last week LSU had 7 “votes,” beat unranked Auburn by just 4 and snuck into the latest poll at 25. That win was on the road though. North Carolina had 9 votes last week, beat then 2-2 Va Tech soundly at home 41-10, and dropped to 5 votes this week. So who knows. But like you said, just keep winning and we’ll be ranked at some point.
