I just don’t recall that W with the serifs on their helmets . must not have been for too many years

They might have just made minor tweaks to the more modern W over time. But I distinctly remember Wisconsin having the more modern W on their helmets when Ron Dayne played there, which was the late 1990s.

That Block W was consistent through the '80s and late '70s, often without the middle stripe. Earlier in the '70s they had red oval with white W and no stripe. Before that a white helmet with a big red W on the front and back and numerals on the sides. Too busy IMO but original.

Alvarez introduced the modern "W" in '91 to rebrand what had been a fairly putrid program.

If you had told me this just two years ago and then told me why you were speaking such nonsense(again, two years ago), I would've told you to seek help for your drug problem.

Such a weird thing that that's even how IU is spoken about now...in FOOTBALL!!
