St.Johns really didn’t pass the eye test atleast to me,didn’t they lost an exhibition game to a D2 Pace University 63-59.From what i have seen so far they might just be above Depaul in the Conference standings.St John’s has a lot of new players so it is hard to tell how good scUM is. But I agree they look better than last year even without Hunter
That Maryland/Villanova is going to be very interesting. Maryland with 2 bad losses already and Nova lost to Penn last night. Both teams desperate for a win and a quality one at that. While I do not think Michigan will be bad, I kind of find it hilarious that them beating St. John's at what probably felt more like a neutral court has people on social media ready to reanoint them as one of the contenders in the Big Ten, lol. I will take a bit more of a "wait and see" approach given their regular season performance the past two years.
With that said, it was a decent win for the perception of the conference - and that helps us. This will be a pretty big week for the Big Ten to gain at least a little bit more hype/respect, and no team could accomplish that by winning more than our Illini!
Wisconsin at Providence - 5:00 pm on FS1
#9 Duke vs. #18 Michigan State (Chicago, IL) - 6:00 pm on ESPN
#4 Marquette at #23 Illinois - 7:00 pm on FS1
Iowa at #8 Creighton - 9:00 pm on FS1
Missouri at Minnesota - 8:00 pm on BTN (I kind of see Minnesota as hopeless, though, and want to see Mizzou with a good record when they come to St. Louis)
Maryland at #21 Villanova - 7:30 pm on FS1
Indiana vs. #5 UConn (MSG in New York, NY) - 12:00 pm on ESPN (can't help but feel like this might be a blood bath...)
Yep, I will be keeping my eye on that one. Many people were picking Maryland as the trendy dark horse in the conference this year, and it will be interesting to see if they can respond with their backs against the wall. If that one were in College Park, I would take the Terps. That Maryland/Villanova is going to be very interesting. Maryland with 2 bad losses already and Nova lost to Penn last night.
