Watching Virginia and Syracuse. I'd love to have another crack at Virginia. Also, JB has to be on his way out.

What HS kid will feel secure committing to a 78 year old HC? He’s already the oldest ever D1 basketball coach, by four years.

Iowa State with a terrible choke job in Lubbock. Blew a 23 point 2nd half lead to lose by 3 in OT. What a crazy way for Texas Tech to cover -2.5 spread.

Texas Tech just went berserk. Very havoc-like. Iowa state just looked totally stunned. It almost reminded me of the ILL @ Marquette last year.

Wow... Was upset when I missed the bet on Iowa State when it started... Crazy way to get your first conference win

You and me both. I saw the value play on Iowa State ML pre-game but forgot to place bet. Once game started, Iowa State quickly started running away with game. As a result, I decided not to bet in-game.

Very happy I am forgetful, as that would have been a roller coaster of emotions bet.

Yeah I missed it thinking -2.5 was a steal and then saw Iowa State jump out to the early lead. We dodged a bullet

And as usual, Boeheim was a complete bag in the postgame press conference.

Can he just retire already?
In May, it will be 16 years since Syracuse established a succession plan by which Mike Hopkins (who threw in the towel six years ago to become HC at Washington) would replace Boeheim. I think everyone around the program was stunned when he didn't leave when his sons graduated.

Last night, Benny Williams, the five-star recruit who has been gradually falling out of favor over the last two years, never showed up at the Dome. When reporters asked what was going on, they were told that Boeheim would address it after the game. When he was asked about it after the game, Boeheim got sore that he was asked. At this point, pretty much everyone around the program is just silently praying fro the day when he just decides he's had enough.

Was just looking at IU’s 5 game winning streak. Really don’t think it’s any more indicative of them turning a corner than our winning 6 of 7.
*Wins against Wisconsin and OSU who are both reeling (and we beat easily)
*Win against Minnesota, sub 200 on KenPom
*Home win against MSU, pretty solid
*And we are by far their most impressive win during that stretch, and we were essentially without or best or second best player and coming off a 19 days in a row stretch.

Maryland is tough at home. Think we will learn a lot more about whether IU has really turned a corner after tonight.

If we don’t come out flat tonight, that bodes well for us having turned the corner as it felt like several of our losses we didn’t play particularly hard. But our real test will be this weekend in Carver Hawkeye.

The eye test disagrees. Their defense is a lot better and closer to what was expected when the season started and tjd has had a crazy stretch that can't be denied. Trust me, I hate this and was loving their collapse but they look different now

Fair. But as a counterpoint if we had kept our foot on the gas against OSU and Wisconsin and won both games by 17-20 points, how would we look from an eye test?

I guess my point was if IU has turned a corner so have we. But IMHO it’s still too early to tell, and we should learn more about IU after tonight and more about us after Saturday.

IMO we have definitely turned a corner. The quality of play that lost @ Northwestern is not the same as the quality of play the last 5 games. Even the IU loss didn't look the same by eye.

Torvik's system still doesn't like us a lot (39th vs a low of 46th) but others like NET and KenPom have shown a double-digit climb in ranking to back up the "eye test".

With Purdue running away with the B1G, I think I'm going to start following the B12 closer.

Torvik has 6 teams with a 10% or higher chance to share the title, which makes almost every game a really big game.

Texas 45%
KSU 30%
Iowa St 21%
Kansas 19%
TCU 19%
Baylor 10%

The title race, plus the fact that Texas Tech is the lowest ranked team (57) on torvik, means there will be some very intense basketball down the stretch. We've got 2 good ones tonight...

KSU @ KU
WVU @ TCU

Agreed I think both teams are starting to live up to their preseason expectations

Thinking the squaks are going to run the kitties out of the building tonight. Yes, I hate both teams but they can't both lose.

After Northwestern gets done running the gauntlet of 6 games in 13 days the lesson will be...that for the millionth time the rules are different for ScUM and tOSU than for everyone else.

If the Wild Kitties manage to win this at Iowa, where it is not easy to win a game, I will be impressed!
