What Sports App Do You Recommend?

#1
The college football season starts in earnest in three weeks. I like to check the scores while I'm out but haven't found a sports app I really like. Yahoo/ESPN/CBS have graphics and large fonts that cause the names to get cut off. (I suppose I could change to landscape mode, but I hate auto-rotation.)

I use Sports Alerts, but you can't see schedules (my biggest gripe) or get any kind of a recap outside of a box score.

Any recommendations? Am I missing a setting in one of the major apps?

Thanks in advance.

I use the firefan app, they have play by play of all games and no delay very easy to navigate. I even play Illini games by predicting what will happen but i think the live scores are more up to date and easier to navigate than others, when I'm out I can follow all games with play by play

My son turned me on to "The Score". I have had both ESPN and CBS and think the score is much better. My only complaint is that they really don't have much in the way of lifetime stats but then neither do the others, so I move to the laptop when I want that information.

I really like how much flexibility there is in The Score to setup your favorites, what you want to see and notifications. I also find it to be very much real time. If watching a game, I find most updates to be nearly immediate. It is also nice getting notifications for activity with your favorite teams.

Thanks, Cam. I never even heard of this app. I'm a little concerned because it shows NCAA Men's Basketball but not Football. I'm not sure I will do the predicting, but it looks like it won't be hard to tell who plays. They don't show any NFL preseason scores to test some of the other features, such as full schedule, etc. It looks nice for following a game, though. You sure they will have college football?

I've been using "theScore" for years. I've never found anything better.

Thanks, blm. I used The Score before, but if I recall, it had the same problem with school names getting cut off. I get excited to see South Carolina losing only to find out it is South Carolina A&T. I'll check it out again. The listing of the schedules looks good, but, if I recall, they cut off the names when they show the scores. Otherwise I thought it was a great app.

This is going to be the first year for college football but they will have it and the live play by play of every game is very good and easy to follow. MLB now if you want to check out the features
