Don’t care what number I am, but I do want to tell people to be confident in the talent we have gotten and are going to get.

That’s the strength of underwood and this staff.

That and player development.

We will challenge for another B1G championship next year.

Some of the posters yesterday seem like they might be happier following a different sport....
That's an overstatement. There are people that are used to having a roster with known commodities, a high floor/high ceiling outlook, a team that starts in the top 25 and is discussed, even in the off-season.

We don't have that this year. Our roster is a complete unknown. If an A list scorer world have hopped aboard, you'd see more excitement. This team has a low floor, but a fairly high ceiling IMO. We're going to need two or these guys taking a huge jump in production from last year and we need an alpha, "go to" guy who is capable of taking over down the stretch.

A guy like Boswell could need to be a 18/8 assist guy(for example)

A guy like White can go from 12/6 to 18/7 rebounds(for example)

It's a question mark until we see development.

Saw someone mention it yesterday's thread but if Dillon Jones pulls out of the draft and he entered the portal he legitimately may be the best transfer of the year.

He is basically what you would get if you combined the offense of Marcus Domask with the defense/rebounding of Ty. Only been an average 3pt shooter(32%) but has been extremely good free throw shooter which suggests he could improve from 3.

See I would make a bad Dan because I would sit around on a Sunday morning for a couple extra hours drinking my coffee just to laugh at everyone standing by for that first post.
Then start the thread at like 9:43.

I have this feeling BU believes Egor is ours to lose. Why do I think so? Because if it were not so, he would have moved by now on one of the excellent wings still out there in the portal. OTOH, I often question my own "reasoning." If he does come I would give this new group an A, and probably ranked in the nation's top 10.

There’s also people used to Illinois being at the bottom of the B1G for years and are still grateful for BU & Co making us relevant again.

Everyone complaining about a whole new roster needs to realize there’s going to be massive roster changes with “unknown commodities” and unknown chemistry every year on every power conference team, as long as these portal rules remain. To think otherwise is delusional.

Sure there’s more work to do in the portal, but the process is ongoing and they know the pieces we need. In Brad We Trust (He has earned it).

Sure it might be a question mark but too many people seem to take unknowns and dive into panic mode. It's bad for your mental health to assume worst case scenarios based on incomplete information and assumptions.

1.That's a big "if" though. Pundits are calling this draft class the worst in quite some time, which might push Jones into the first round.

2. If he does go into the portal, would we be willing or able to pay the asking price?

Given the demand for his services and the money that's been thrown around, my guess is that the bidding will start at 1 million and it might take as much as 1.5 to close the deal.
