It was the first points for the Illini in almost 5 minutes during which PSU fought back from a 10-point deficit, and it appeared that Illinois would go down in yet another lackluster late-game performance before the final play. The Illini built up a 12-point lead in the 2nd half before IU chipped away to close the gap. Gordon led the Hoosiers with 19 including a long 3 to send the game to the first overtime.
