Well odds are against us. There are a lot of good programs going for his services.
That's easy.
Be a real soothsayer and tell us all where he will go.

Does anyone know Johnson's area of study? Since he will earn a degree in around 3 years, and will study for the next 2 years, I would imagine his decision would be a blend of playing situation and academic situation. Or I may be way off base, just a thought.

That actually is one of the better thoughts about his recruitment in my mind.
The young man played major D1 basketball and managed to graduate in 3 years. His education is clearly a major focus.
Good question

The flip side could be: he has a degree, do the minimum possible to be eligible and focus every other second on developing for some level of Pro basketball

Any relation to Nick Fazekas? He was one hell of a player for Nevada (except I'm pretty sure Augie shut him down in the 2005 tourney).

Arizona makes a lot of sense, as would UCLA.

Charlie Moore interview

Charlie Moore discusses transfer from Cal. He mentions IL has a real possibility.

It sounds really promising. The only drawback is waiting a month for it to happen.

It's promising in the Moore interview, not so promising if you listen to Irvin interview.

Doesn't appear to be immediate family, but perhaps cousin or something?

Who edited that? You'd flunk out of the UI broadcast journalism program with work like that.

Mike Irvin is the guy to interview in this situation. Moore is as close to Mike as Nick and as Nick said, Chin and Mike are best friends. They grew up together.

So U think we have a very good chance with Charlie Moore?

Three things I never do on this board - 1. make player comparisons 2. make recruiting predictions 3. follow game threads, but I feel better than I probably should about Charlie. Not only due to the Mike Irvin-Chin Coleman connection but the dates of two things.

coincidence? perhaps.

oh, and welcome to IL. Just noticed it was post number 1.

Really hoping Charlie Moore ends up at Illinois. Watched him play with Lovet and with Ayo. Really good player and a great kid.

With Moore and TJL, we would have the youngest looking backcourt in the conference.

I think at this time it is almost impossible to know at this time where transfers end up. The really good ones like Moore have a lot of options and are going to take their time deciding where they want to go
