I'm glad you guys are liking it. And actually it is really only poking fun at the couple of trolls that came over and were spouting off nonsense.

First it was someone named thakid, then illinibat came into the thread where we were discussing the huge early spread move from ASU -3 to Ill -3 and said its because of this (http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.js...&div=IA&dest=O). And then Chuck05 came in and started defending it (though he was fairly reasonable in my estimation). There were several other more reasonable references to the Ill D and I think it just sprouted from there.
I did not start the thread that I posted, so I can't say his motivation for sure, but that is my read on it. |

The comments about our D giving up 20 plus points 7 times last year are very misleading. If we go back and check the amount of time our D had to trot back out after an offensive miscue or a 3 and out, our D played about 75% of the game (I'm sure I exaggerate some here). Even the best D eventually wears down. The ASU game last year was a perfect example. Our D had to go out there time and time again and stuff ASU because our O could not sustain a drive or would turn the ball over. Consequently, if we ever get our O going and score some points, sustain some drives, you'll see a D that gives up a lot less points. What will be interesting is that Osweiller and ASU's passing game was more feared against our D than any running attack (unless it is at the level of Wisky or tOSU, which it is not). Therefore, with ASU relying primarily on the rushing attack, our D will be just fine. If they try to throw, we'll be ready for that too. I just don't think ASU is going to be able to move the ball very well against this D at all. Of course in order to win we need the offense to sustain drives and SCORE some points. If this happens I think we win by 10 plus. The only reason the game was close last year was because our O did next to nothing.

I don't think the maroon is that bad... I've certainly seen worse (Maryland, ND, I'm looking at you).
I'm so excited for tomorrow, it's ridiculous. For once, I'm upset we have a night game and I'll have to wait all day to watch us play. I think this one could go either way, and it's gonna be great to watch. |

Hey guys, no worries on the troll topic, I find guys like those trolls humorous, all schools have them.
Only reason I even brought them up is so that you would have context so you didn't think I was trying to offend. It is a fun thread. |
