Groce: In terms of our effort and toughness, we were really good Tuesday night.
Groce: Guys are starting to have some carryover from what they're asking them to do. Graded out highest at Nebraska.
Groce: Moved the ball better at Nebraska, 12 assists. Just feel like they've gotten better.
Groce: Michigan is a load, great personnel, not a lot of weaknesses, great basketball team.
Groce: Guys are starting to embrace the system a little bit.
Groce: Four days off doen't hurt. Gives opportunity to get bodies back in order.
Groce: Biggest thing has been worrying about themselves, not so much about opponent.
Groce: Tracy's just a little bit sore, got everything checked out and he's fine.
Groce: Had about six or seven fouls that were sloppy that need to be cleaned up on defensive end.
Groce: Leaning toward same starters but two days of practice remaining.
Groce: Knew Trey Burke in high school. Great kid, great family. Assist/turnover ratio is disgusting.
Groce: Last player in Big Ten to average 17 points, 7 assists was Magic Johnson. "He was pretty good."
Groce: Michigan's personnel is up there with the best they've seen this year.
Groce: Sure hope guys embrace big moments and big games.
Groce: Guys like challenges, he likes challenges. Have competitive guys. If no butterflies, something's probably wrong.
Groce: Taking it one day at a time, not focusing on the tough stretch coming up starting Sunday.
Groce: Happy for D.J., repeats that his defense and offense combined was as impressive as he's seen in 19 years.
Groce: Griffey has been more physical. More locked in, getting more rebounds per minute played.
Groce: Have to be efficient. Take bad shots or turn the ball over against Michigan, it's a dunk or a three.
Groce: Defensively, D.J is smart, tough, he cares about it. He's very detailed and he has some ability. High basketball IQ.
Groce: He's good on the ball, good off the ball.
Groce: Hope there's carryover offensively for D.J. from Nebraska game. Couldn't happen to a better guy.
Groce: D.J. and Brandon complement one another. Guys aren't leaving D.J. any more because of Brandon.

Groce: Tuesday night toughness and effort something to build on for sure. Team graded out as high on defense as they have all year
Groce: I just feel like we've gotten better over the last week. That's all you can control.
Groce: Michigan a load, terrific on both ends of the floor, great personnel, don't have a lot of weaknesses.
Groce: For us the biggest thing has been ourselves. We worry far less about worrying about opponent and more about oruselves
Groce: It's about 80 percent us and 20 percent about opponent as far as we've approached it, especially for Year One team
Groce: Abrams just "sore." X-rayed, took precautions. "He's fine. It's just that time of year. He's played a lot of minutes."
Groce: Leaning toward same starters this game.
Groce: Knows Trey Burke well. Terrific player, makes guys better, competitively tough. Assist-to-turnover ratio "disgusting"
Groce: Michigan has good blend of guys with experience and talented young guys.
Groce: Similarities to personnel from team his Ohio squad beat last year. Lost leaders in Novak and Douglass but added talent
Groce: You've got to embrace challenges. You have to embrace the journey and enjoy the journey. Mindset has improved last week
Groce: They'll probably have some butterflies before tipoff. If they don't, something's wrong.
Groce: Not thinking about upcoming stretch, taking it one day at a time.
Groce on DJ's night at NEB: Haven't had many games where he's seen guy exert as much on defense AND had a special offensive night
Groce: Griffey off bench has been more physical, more locked in, doing other things than shooting that help team.
Groce: I think you have to be efficient, I think you have to have quality possessions. Michigan is explosive in transition.
Groce on DJ's defense: He's smart. He's tough. He cares about it. He's very detailed. Then obviously he has ability.
