Well, since 42 divided by 3 equals 14. Number 3 has a typo.

First, let us painfully recollect a past few games...

January 27th against Michigan = LOSS
January 31st against Michigan State = LOSS
February 3rd against Wisconsin = LOSS

Now, let us joyfully recollect the next three games...

February 7th against Indiana = WIN
February 10th against Minnesota = WIN
February 13th against Purdue = Complete Slaughter


So the question is, what happened to Illinois between the dates February 3rd to February 7th? One word....."TWITTER".


The story: My wife follows all the players on twitter and they tweeted quite a bit. Lately she kept wondering why they hadn't tweeted and it kind of got me thinking. I said, "honey, pull up all the players on twitter and tell me when they last tweeted". The date.....February 5th. No players have tweeted since that day. Two days before playing #1 Indiana and going on a three game winning streak.

My take:

John Groce has a meeting with the players.

He says, "Man! You guy's sure like to tweet! We are sucking right now and you really should be concentrating on basketball instead of tweetin your asses off! I just got hired and if you think I am going to let you guy's tweet me out of a job, you got another thing coming! So this is what we are going to do. From now on, no more twitter! If I see just one tweet from any of you, you're suspended. I follow all of you on there and if you block me, you're suspended! Kapish?! Good! Now lets get ready to beat the #1 team in the country!"

Tyler Griffey is averaging 14 points per game over the last 3 (42/3). They have corrected the number in the link you provided, assuming it previously said 18. It now says 14.

You're probably right about the twitter ban. I follow BP3 on instagram, where he hardly ever posts. But he just posted a link to his twitter, also stating his next tweet won't be until after the season.

I'm just glad that we're not one of the schools that was picked to wear those new Nike uniforms for this game, or any other game this season. I wasn't a fan of them to start with, and am even less of a fan of them after seeing Gonzaga, Mich St, UNC, tOSU, Kentucky, Duke, and Texas all lose while wearing them this year.

As for the game tonight, I don't foresee another blowout, but I still think it will be relatively comfortable. I'm thinking that a 13 point win sounds about right. So I'll go ahead and say
