Groce: team saw Chris Herren speak Wednesday about drug abuse, called the speech "impressive."

Groce: team played too up and down on Tuesday, energy wasn't consistent enough. Practiced well with good energy last two days

Groce: Eastern Kentucky "dangerous" with the way they shoot threes, 2nd best team in the country at forcing turnovers.

Groce: EKU very good in 3 defenses: extended 2-3 zone, 1-3-1 and man. "They make passing and catching very hard."

Groce: It's a concious choice to come out with energy and focus each game. Has to create culture of it, getting there, not there yet

Groce: Have had several 40-minute "locked in" games, but obviously have had a few struggles lately. Striving for consistency

Groce: Abrams and Richardson have been "full go" all week. Been practicing hard and have been vocal leaders

Groce: Played EKU twice at Ohio. Played DiNunno at NIU, Orlando Williams at Ohio, Jeff Johnson in HS when he recruited James Kinney

Groce: Year-in and year-out EKU has one of the best offenses in the country, now its defense is playing well too.

Groce: Any time you win, it gives your more credibility in recruiting. "It becomes faith with evidence."
