Road Win

Illinois halted its Big Ten road loosing streak today against Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Early in the second half the Illini enjoyed a big 44-18 advantage. Eventually, the Wildcats were able to slowly creep back into the 10-point-deficit range, but never really threatened and Illinois closed it out for a 58-47 victory. Rich McBride had 12 (4-12 3pt), Dee Brown had a welcomed solid road game with 18 points and 8 assists, and James Augustine held Big Ten leading scorer Vedran Vukusic to just 5. Next up: a couple home games against Minnesota and Purdue before a big road contest against Wisconsin. Filed under: Illini Basketball, Northwestern Wildcats
